Agriturismo Monticelli has always believed in the importance of introducing young people to the world of nature and rural traditions. With this educational goal in mind, our educational farm in Sicily was established, accredited by the Region (No. 15 of 27/04/2009). This is an unmissable educational activity for families and schools, where children can learn and actively participate in our traditional agricultural activities, guided by specialized staff.

Our agriturismo in Sicily offers young people a hands-on experience, allowing them to observe outdoors and in real life all the theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom. Through well-structured educational activities, your students will have the opportunity to observe animals up close and
the natural environments that characterize the Sicilian territory. The educational farm at Agriturismo Monticelli will immerse both adults and children in the traditions of rural life, allowing them to explore the agri-food chains and the cheese-making production processes.
The qualification of Educational Farm is usually granted by the regional administration based on the farm’s acceptance of certain standards defined by a ‘quality charter.’ In particular, the farm must commit, on one hand, to strictly adhering to safety regulations, which include the implementation of
the safety of materials and hazardous substances, insurance coverage for visitors, the presence of staff trained in first aid, and proper signage for any restricted-access areas. On the other hand, the farm must present an educational/training program related to its actual agricultural or animal production.
